You can tell I am serious because of caps lock. The gearbox looks so smooth and perfect, and the sound is just so damn sexy!

You have to remember that most people who buy Ferraris aren't actually car people, they just want to look the part. Plus their plastic prescription drugged out girlfriend/wife/mistress can't drive stick.

Because YOURSTEREOTYPICALAMERICAN doesn't give a shit about manuals. That's said. But it's true.

Haha, I see what you did there. I know lots of people that buy these don't give a damn about driving dynamics or how a manual feels in there hands, but there has to be a market! I know there were quite a few Murcie's that sold with a gate, so it doesn't mean everyone that buys a supercar wants paddles.

That was the main reason I love manual supercars. The person behind the wheel has to work at looking cool . . . or maybe they enjoy the driving experience.

because its not this...I like my batshit insanity (twin)turboed or better yet twincharged

My personally choice is the older Zondas sound a whole lot better than the newer ones, plus you can get them in a manual!

yes a tunnel, yes a tunnel, yes a tunnel!

Okay. Normally I say "What's the big deal with Ferarris, they don't sound that different from my neighbor's silverado."
Apparently I just had to hear the right one.

Or if they got a Countach, spend extra weeks at the gym.

That garage he pulls in to at the end of the video is pretty epic. Don't think it's Pagani HQ. Aventador, beautiful E30 convertible on 15 inch basketweaves, CLS Shooting Brake 63 AMG, scooters because Italy,...

Awesome post. I remember a specific video of a Ferrari owner driving his gated 599. Let me try and dig it up, you'll love it.
FOUND IT! 599 sounds like a race car.

Have you even heard a 355?!?

The old V12 sounded so nice. It also sounded like a real engine, not a big fan of their newer stuff.

Yes. . . yes he did. But this is Robert Himler do expect anything else?

I love gated manuals, or at least ones with the gate exposed instead of the wrinkly foreskin of a leather boot.

It is a pity that the 430 was the last manual V8 Ferrari. The 458 is magnificent, and the DCT provides way more performance than any driver could manage with a manual shifter. The DCT/ECU do nice blips on downshifts, especially if you hold the left paddle while heavy braking and it'll do four or five shifts one after the other. But, man, it misses the point that manually clack-clacking your way through a gated shifter is so much fun. There's an endless discussion on F-chat trying to petition Ferrari to bring back a gated shifter for the 458 or its replacement. Not much chance, I suspect.

You may be right, but don't diss all Ferrari owners, as many, many are true enthusiasts (me included). Go to an FCA track day and, believe me, there are some serious drivers there, many risking multi-hundred-thousand-dollar cars with no insurance. Or go to a Cars'n'Coffee and talk to some owners. There are probably some major tools, but also a lot of friendly folks who love to share their enthusiasm.

is it just me or is he blipping the throttle on upshifts? why???

The engine computer is blipping that for him, because with his "slow" manual shifting, he let the RPMs go down too low. As soon as the box is notched into the next gear, the PCM is already trying to bring the engine RPM up to match the trans RPM as close as possible.

Style of transmission isn't such a worry for me, but they all sound fantastic including the tortured whooshing of a huayra on hard acceleration, but I seem to enjoy the engies that emulate that 355 you put up, that car is just insane

now imagine AMG tuned Vespas, because racing scooters.....
but that is a pretty cool garage at the end and he (she, alien, cousin it....) can't be faulted for style or choice- and yeah looks more so privatish of a garage

I guess the revs fall that quickly? I am not sure why, but it sounded awesome.
